The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod have teamed up to support local art students through the Second Annual “POSITIVELY DIFFERENT Arts Foundation Scholarship Program“.  The program will award funding to five local students for undergraduate studies in arts-related fields in 2014. The deadline for applications is May 15, 2014.

Scholarships will be provided in five different mediums – music, dance, visual arts, theater arts and creative writing.

The application, which includes an essay, can be downloaded at www.artsfoundation.org.  Those eligible for scholarships include any student who is graduating from a public or private school or a home education program living on Cape Cod in the spring of 2014 and who has been accepted into a degree program at an accredited college or university.

According to Kevin Howard, President & CEO of the Arts Foundation, “We are excited to once again be partnering with the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod to offer scholarships to Barnstable County students pursuing careers in the creative sector. We expect again to discover a wide depth and breadth of talented graduates from our region’s high schools, deserving of this assistance.”

Added Joel Crowell, President of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod:  “The arts community is part of the backbone of Cape Cod and part of what it makes this such a special place to live and visit. The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod does a tremendous job of supporting, encouraging and providing resources for our local artists.  We’re thrilled to partner with them in this wonderful new endeavor, which we anticipate will be an annual program.”

Applications are due by May 15, 2014 and winners will be announced on June 1, 2014.  The scholarships will be awarded at a luncheon in the winners’ honor.  For additional details on the program, visit www.artsfoundation.org.
