The Orleans Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Meeting & Business Dinner on Tuesday Nov. 14th at the Captain Linnell House, 137 Skaket Beach Rd. in Orleans. The event begins at 5:30pm and will celebrate the Chamber’s many successes throughout 2017 and provide a preview of the Chamber’s work for 2018.
The program will also serve to recognize key volunteers, acknowledge the advancement of the Chamber’s mission and celebrate long-time members. Six awards will be presented at the event — two for business of the year in a large and small business category; an emerging business of the year award; the non-profit of the year; the town pride award, given to a municipal employee selected by the Chamber’s board of directors; and the Spirit of Orleans award, given to an organization, committee or individual who is committed to the advancement of the business community in Orleans selected by the Chamber’s board of directors. Keynote speaker will be economist and public policy expert Professor Michael Goodman, Executive Director of The Public Policy Center at UMass Dartmouth. He will discuss economic trends and housing.
