Here’s something you can feel good about this month. On Friday, February 22nd, you can celebrate National Margarita Day among friends while also supporting a terrific community organization. And as a bonus, you might also take home several hundred dollars’ worth of prizes!
GUAPO’s Tortilla Shack in Orleans, together with Nauset Disposal, Bayside Tent and Cape Cod Broadcasting, will host their annual National Margarita Day bash from 5-8 PM with proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands. A $10 donation to the non-profit organization (made at the door) comes with access to a salsa bar, passed appetizers, tequila samples from Lunazul, and music from Cat Wilson of 99.9 the Q. A heated outdoor tent will allow for overflow access and Guapo’s will be serving their full menu throughout the party.
Guests can also cash in on the chance to win 4 prize packages, each valued at more than $500. The themed packages include “Fun in the Sun”, “Family Fun”, “Winter Fun” and “Fun in the Kitchen”. Among the fabulous items included in them are Bruins tickets, Red Sox tickets and a round of golf at Eastward Ho. Tickets can be purchased at the party or in advance at guaposcapecod.com/margaritaday. All ticket proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters and the winners do not need to be present at the party to win.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters is positively impacting the lives of hundreds of kids right in our communities, which is why we chose to make them the beneficiary for the second consecutive year,” said GUAPO’s owner Kyle Parker. “Like all non-profits, they rely on generous funding to do the important work they do. But even more importantly, they rely on volunteer mentors to work with the kids. We encourage anyone considering becoming a mentor to join us to learn more and have some fun.”
“We are so thankful to GUAPO’s, Nauset Disposal, and the many other community minded businesses who are contributing to this awesome event,” said JR Mell, Regional Director for BBBS. “With 82 kids, 68 of which are boys, currently waiting for a mentor on the Cape & Islands, events like this help us to raise awareness, and the funding needed, to ensure at-risk youth in our community can thrive!”
Added Shawn Delude, President of Nauset Disposal: “We are proud to be partnering with Guapo’s again for National Margarita Day in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters. We feel fortunate to collaborate with many local businesses who share the same vision as we do: to help create brighter futures, a stronger community, and make a positive impact on children’s lives while empowering them to achieve in the future.”
The National Margarita Day party is part of GUAPO’s long-standing “GUAPO’s GIVES” initiative, through which they raise thousands of dollars annually for local non-profit groups. GUAPO’s is located at 136 Route 6A (Staples Plaza) in Orleans with a second seasonal location in Brewster.
