The Homeless Prevention Council’s 2019 Backpack to School program will run from July through September. Through the Backpack to School program, HPC provides Lower Cape students from kindergarten through high school with backpacks and supplies to support their academic efforts. The program is coordinated to meet the specific needs of each student by using back-to-school lists provided by teachers throughout the Lower Cape.

This year, the Nauset Rotary Club is enhancing HPC’s Backpack to School program by organizing a shoe drive for children and youth living on the Lower Cape. The Rotary Club’s goal is to raise $5,000 by August 1st, 2019, which will provide 150 gift cards to support the purchase of new shoes for Lower Cape students at the beginning of the upcoming school year.
