To the citizens of Orleans,
Our 4th of July Committee has had a rough year. One of our Committee members passed away, we had 3 committee members leave because of other commitments, and we have quite a few volunteers who are unable to participate this year due to a variety of personal reasons.
We are looking for new committee members but also need quite a few volunteers for the fireworks and parade in order to have these activities happen this year.
None of the jobs are challenging, we just need folks to help for a couple of hours on parade day and/or an hour or so for fireworks set-up and clean-up
We specifically need help
- setting up and taking down the fencing for the fireworks (set-up July 4 late afternoon (fencing down and area clean-up morning after Fireworks)
- decorating band and dignitary vehicles at OES
- setting up the staging signs on Parade Day and take signs down after the parade
- staging the Parade dignitaries and bands at OES
- staging the parade floats at the NRMS (3-4 people at least)
- assisting with drop-off for people that are joining floats and contingents
- Help with Antique Vehicle staging at Nickerson Funeral Home
- walk along with the parade to help with parade flow
- direct contingents at the end of the parade route
- taking off decorations at OES after the parade
We probably missed a few things but if anyone is willing to give some time and/or maybe join our committee we would love to hear from you.
You can email Bonnie Roy at [email protected]. Please put 4th ACTIVITIES in the subject line.
Thank you,
Orleans 4th of July Celebration Committee
