There are many lighthouses dotting the coast from Falmouth to Provincetown offering great photo opportunities. Some are open and welcome visitors to take a tour inside. If you get an opportunity, it is worth the vertical scare. Stories abound about the role of these important beacons to ships navigating the Cape’s notoriously treacherous waters.
Located closest to Orleans are the Nauset Lighthouse and the Three Sisters, three towers that were erected to mark the dangerous Nauset sandbars off of Eastham.
