Elinor Freedman will be the Featured Artist at Eastwind Gallery in Orleans from Friday, August 9 through Thursday, August 15. Ellie is an award winning artist who has exhibited her work in numerous juried exhibits in New England and New York. While Ellie is primarily known for her striking pastel depictions of the Cape Cod landscape from which she draws much of her inspiration, this exhibit entitled People and Places will feature recent figurative work and examples of her exploration of other mediums such as charcoal, ink, monoprint, and digital manipulation of images.

Ellie is a juried Master Artist at the Cape Cod Art Center, a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists, and an associate member of the Pastel Society of America, as well as a member of the Connecticut Pastel Society, Pastel Society of New Hampshire, Art Collaborative of Wakefield(MA), and the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod for which she has served as a board member and annually coordinates a scholarship program for Cape and Island students who aspire to careers in the arts. Ellie also serves as a docent and co-facilitator of docent training at the Cape Cod Museum of Art where she has had the opportunity to collaborate with museum docents to curate exhibits. 

Eastwind Gallery is a cooperative gallery and working studio located downstairs between Watson’s Men’s Apparel & Gallant Jewelry in the heart of the Orleans Cultural District. Enter from Main St. or Main St. Square where free parking is available with a rear entrance to the gallery. Visit Eastwind Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
