At the Community Development Partnership’s 27th Annual Meeting On Thursday, March 29th, over 75 members unanimously elected Board Officers and five new board members of the CDP’s Board of Directors.
Amy Costa, Tom Howes, Wil Rhymer, Raphael Richter, and Peter Rice were elected to the Board for 3 year terms.
Amy Costa is a Mortgage Originator with Seamen’s Bank and lives in North Truro. She is also co-founder of Cape Cod Kombucha, a fermented health beverage, and expanded her business in 2017 through a CDP micro-loan
Peter Rice of Brewster, is Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Banking Officer for The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. Rice also serves on the Board of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, is a volunteer for Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and coaches softball and basketball for the Brewster Recreation Department. Rice returns to the CDP Board after an eight year absence.
Provincetown native Raphael Richter owns and manages ground transportation companies Mercedes & Cape Cab, The Funk Bus, and Mayflower Trolley. He previously co-founded and managed Shakespeare on the Cape, a non-profit theater company that put on productions across the Cape. A former Provincetown Select Board Member, his work focused on tackling the local housing crisis and nurturing economic development.
Wil Rhymer is Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of Cape Cod Five’s Wellfleet location. He has managed the Wellfleet branch since 2002 and is a vital part of the Outer Cape business community. Rhymer has served on the Board of Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod, the Provincetown Chamber of Commerce and the Chatham Merchant Association. He is a tireless advocate for sustainability in our communities.
A native Cape Codder and former Olympic rower, Tom Howes is Director of Business Development for Delphi Construction. In 2006 Howes began an association with affordable Cape-based housing advocates and developers and he has been involved with building several affordable housing developments. Howes has a strong technical background development and construction and a keen interest in delivering energy efficient projects that reflect his commitment to building for the future.
“As a state certified community development corporation, the CDP is committed to having representatives of the organization’s clients serve in leadership roles as well as broad community representations,” said Jay Coburn, Chief Executive Officer of the Community Development Partnership. “We are grateful to welcome so many dedicated community leaders to our Board and know that their time, talent and treasure will benefit the CDP and the Lower Cape Community.
The CDP’s Board consists of 16 members who may serve two consecutive three year terms. In addition, the organization’s Advisory Council is comprised of over sixty business and community leaders whose expertise enriches the organization.
